Workspace owners and admins can create shared links, which can be shared with specific groups or all members within the workspace. This facilitates efficient knowledge sharing while also enhancing control over access and security. Shared links allow members to discover and access resources directly from the linked app based on their permissions within that app. When a specific resource is sourced in Unleash, users are redirected to the original app and must adhere to its access rules.
Creators of shared links can create Restricted Links, which permit recipients to view titles of specific data in search results but cannot preview or access the content itself. For certain apps, admins and workspace owners can create shared links and define permissions for app resources, referred to as permission-based links.
Admins get implicit access to results from any Shared Discovery links created in the account. the connection doesn't have to be explicitly shared with them, they will still get access. It's something to be aware of if you have discovery connections to sensitive content and don't want all admins to see it.
Discovery
By default, shared links are set to Discovery, which applies universally to all shared links regardless of whether they support permission-based settings. When you choose this setting, members who receive the link can search for and view all resources indexed from the linked app. However, their ability to access these resources depends on their permissions within that app. Clicking on a specific resource in Unleash redirects them to the original app, where they must follow its access rules.
Within the Discovery setting, there's an option to apply restrictions. Opting for “restricted access only" means that recipients can only see the titles of specific data in their search results. They cannot preview the content, and access to the content itself is limited.
Permission-Based
This setting provides a more restricted and controlled experience. When you enable this option, recipients of the link can search for, find, and open only those resources they are authorized to access within the linked app. Unleash respects the permissions set within the app and manages access accordingly within its environment.
Supported Permission-Based Links
Permission-based links are supported for these apps:
Box
Confluence

Illustrated Examples
Imagine you own a workspace, and you decide to connect your Google Drive to Unleash. In this scenario, you create four different types of links:
Personal Link: This feature is designed exclusively for your use when connecting a link without granting access to your private content to coworkers. When conducting searches within Unleash, you can only see the content stored in your private Google Drive. Consider it your private gateway to access your resources securely.
Shared Link with Discovery, No Restricted Access (Shared with John): When you share this link with John, and he performs searches within Unleash, he will see the content and titles of the resources in your Google Drive in his search results. John can also preview these resources. However, if he attempts to open a resource and lacks access permissions in Google Drive, he'll need to request access from you. This enables John to discover resources pertinent to his search that he was previously unaware of, potentially aiding him in tasks.
Shared Link with Discovery, Restricted Access (Shared with Jane): By sharing this link with Jane, her Unleash searches will exclusively reveal the titles of resources in your Google Drive that align with her search criteria. However, she won't be able to preview the content. If she attempts to open a file, she must request access from you to gain viewing privileges. This upholds the confidentiality of the resource content while informing Jane of its existence and allowing her to request access to viewing its content, allowing you to grant her access privileges.
Permission-Based Link (Shared with Your Workspace Members): Sharing this link within your workspace ensures that members will exclusively view resources in their Unleash search results to which they already have access in your Google Drive. Unleash seamlessly filters out any resources beyond their permissions, providing a streamlined experience aligned with their existing Access Control Levels (ACL) in Google Drive. Each workspace member will be granted access solely to documents within their specific ACL, effectively addressing any privacy concerns.
